The Compact Folding Survival Bow, CFSB, is a compact lightweight takedown flat bow that folds into a very nice, portable, compact, one piece unit.

Out of stock

The patented CFSB (Compact Folding Survival Bow), also known as a takedown bow, can be converted from right hand to left hand, average arrow speeds 170 feet per second.

This traditional bow is a long bow, but it is anything but traditional.

The riser for the Compact takedown Folding Survival Bow is milled from T-6 6061 aircraft grade aluminum with a built in arrow shelf, and the limbs are made from fiberglass developed specifically for bow limbs.

The limbs can be removed to convert bow from right to left hand, replace limbs, or interchange with different draw weight limbs.

Fold the limbs into the side of the handle for transport and it forms its own compact and durable carrying case.

40 lbs draw at 26 inches, 45 lbs at 27 inches and 50 lbs at 28 inches. Draw weight increases with longer draw lengths.

It is 23 inches long x 1.5 x 1.5 inches when closed and opened is a total 59″ in length.

The folding bow design, with its aluminum riser and fiberglass bow limbs is built to survive the apocalypse, put food on the table, and defend you when you need a silent and powerful self defense weapon, and it is a must have for a prepper who wants to maximize their space.

Weighing in at 2.25 lbs., it is lightweight and can be carried in or strapped to just about any pack or bug out bag.

This collapsible bow is convenient for hunters who want to carry a compact back up weapon to the field. If you are looking for a hunting bow, a take-down bow, or a survival bow this is the collapsible bow for you.

The Same great bow as the CFSB 55 lb but with 50 lb limbs.

Very good product and speedy delivery

    :

This is my first bow and i only shot about 500 arrows so far. I wanted a simple and ambidextrous bow that was easy to set up /carry. Was worried about being overbowed with 50lbs since i’m new to archery , but by trying to use good technique i get away with it with just a bit of a sore back on the rhomboid muscles. Good sturdy bow, lots of fun and really quick response / delivery from the PGU team.

Nothing fancy just a quality bow. Back to basics, a joy to shoot. Made in the USA. I believe my compounds are about to collect dust. Outstanding service.

    :

So far I love this bow! It is easy to set up and is extremely durable as advertised. When I was considering this bow I was sure that a 50 lbs. draw would be easy for me. Since I haven’t shoot a bow in a long time I forgot that 50# @ 28″ draw was plenty for me to handle. I am not as young as I used to be, but still fit at 69. I am getting the hang of it and it shoots daily instinctively if you have ever shoot a bow, but is is a challenge to hold a 28″ or more draw for a longer time to aim and fire accurately. Don’t go over 50 lbs. unless you are very strong. This bow is going to be part of my go-gear, and once I get the break-down arrows I will be attached to my pack. Hope to go after a deer soon!

This bow is Awesome. I was sceptical about buying a “Survival Bow”. I was expecting poor ergonomics and stacking at best. Much to my supprise, it shoots very well and balances nicely. Excellent customer service and fast delevery of the bow. I also appreciate the free spare string. Great job and great bow, Thank you.

An excellent product. Was shopping for a take down bow and I feel this is all around better.

    :

Exactly what I was looking for, compact, easy to carry, and well consructed. Takes about a minute to open and string, and the same to takedown. Next purchase is the takedown arrows. Thanks Primal Gear.

    :

Just received my bow and extra arrows, Very fast and safety packed delivery.. So thanks for that.

    Now to the review..

It’s Very easy to string the bow, the grip is very comfortable to me and I have medium sized hands.

I found the arrows certainly pack a punch as at 30+ feet they easily went at least a foot through my 80lb crossbow rated target.. So the 50lb bow definitely will do the job that it’s made for.

I’ve fired the bow for at least an hour and I didn’t have to tighten the clips which I barely tightened.
My cat was sleeping in the garden and didn’t waken up, which shows how quiet the bow is.

I didn’t use an arm guard and the string never hit me, so again big thumbs up for the bow.

I measured the depth of the arrows penetration and it was very consistent, so the bow is definitely well made.

All in all, It’s One hell of a Great item, as are the arrows.
Thanks for making such Great items..

    :

Not only is this bow extremely lightweight and portable, it is also fun to shoot for hours.
The handling is pretty easy and even compared to other more expensive recurve and traditional bows this one does pretty well.
It clearly is my new favorite bow for recreational use.

    :

The bow is solid and well made.It took less than a minute to put it together and string. I love the instinctual shooting with no sights. It’s really a fun way to shoot and after 2 practice sessions I’m already seeing good results. One thing though is the arrow shelf has padding on it, and its already starting to come loose, like it should be thicker or glued better. I’m using carbon fiber feather fletched arrows. I wish I would’ve realized there is a different bow for bow fishing, because I would’ve bought that one. They should be listed side by side on the website. Also it would be good customer service to include an insert on how to wax the bow string and how often it should be done.

The bow is great! Even for just a recreational user myself with ideas of possibly bow hunting, this bow is very sturdy and exceeded my expectations! I’m very happy with it, and with how well GoPrimal treated me as a customer. Also shipping was very quick and safe.

This is a very good well engineered product. The only thing I would suggest is having it come in a case / Scabbard.

This is one quality product. I trusted the reviews of the product I had read but was not prepared for the incredible quality of the materials and assembly. I am thrilled to have this bow which will easily last a lifetime.

I’ve read lot of reviews about this view and decided it was just waist I needed to leave me an archery option on my motorcycle. Very well made, lightweight, smooth draw, quite, and made in America. Will be buying for some family and Army buddies.

I took delivery of my bow just over a week ago. It is everything that was advertised: compact, easy to assemble and use. It takes a bit of getting used to, but fairly intuitive. I look forward to getting another couple of bows with the other two draw weights.

Looking at the bow out the box I was impressed at the setup. After stringing the bow and shooting it I was even more impressed with the bow. I replaced the felt on the arrow shelf with a larger piece and wrapped it around the riser 1/2 inch works great.

    :

Bought this bow about 2 years ago and absolutely love it! The bow is built very well and shoots true. As for speed and power it dose very well compared to wooden bows, I would say its a bit slower but will still drop anything you shoot with it. If you want a durable, reliable long bow this is the one to buy.

  28. 5 out of 5

    :

Very impressed as it’s size allows me to carry this bow in my kayak. It will mainly used for shooting fish. BTW I am also impressed by the speed this came from America to me in Australia.

This bow is the ultimate survival weapon it’s extremely portable and does not take up a lot of space. It’s pretty forgiving too and is super fun to set up and string. If u love bows and survival weapons then you will love this.

I was very pleased with the quality of this bow. Built very solid and easy to string. It took alittle to shoot it without sights but practice helps.I have already sent several others to the site to purchase this bow.my ONLY disappointment with this purchase was I didn’t know about the promo code for the free bow string offer.

I purchased the compact folding survival bow from this website and the bow is amazing. My first bow ever and not disappointed. And the shipping for the bow came in faster than I thought. So in all good website!

    :

Just bought this bow! I truly can’t stop talking about it to my friends and family. I love it’s durability, super simple set up, lightweight (feels like you are holding a water bottle), fits perfect in my go bag, shoots wonderfully, and the list could continue. I honestly grow to love this bow more every day, sounds cheesy but very true. Nothing like a recurve bow to make you feel like a true badass, none of that bs with sights, and extra gadgets getting in the way of your fov. Anyways in short, this bow rocks and if you are even considering it, like Nike, just do it!

    :

I love this bow. I shoot all kind of bows. I took this one out opener bowhunting for deer, it brought home venison

    :

So I chose the 50 lbs draw for myself and I have enjoyed using it greatly. I probably will up the draw weight on mine, but it works well enough as of right now. It came in the mail in a good amount of time and I love the feel of it. It’s actually quite comfortable to hold. Definitely recommending this to my buddies.

  45. 5 out of 5

    :

This bow has been very good so far. I’ve had a few issues with the built in arrow rest taking off arrow vanes, but I intend on either changing the arrow rest to one better with vanes, or switching to feathers. Overall though, very positive experience with this bow.

The compact folding survival bow is of a great quality and was reasonably priced. The shipping was fast, though I did opt for the faster 2-D UPS shipment. Will shop here again.

I couldn’t be happier with this bow. It’s everything it is hyped to be. I’m reacquainting myself with archery after a 39 year hiatus. My son came over yesterday to shoot with me and is a beginner. We had a fantastic time and he is now thinking about purchasing a bow. I also purchased the paracord sling and rigged it to a 24″ X 3.375″ tube that all of my archery equipment fits into. My only disappointment was that I ordered the bow shortly after midnight a week ago Thursday, and did not receive it until the next Wednesday, even though I paid for 3 day shipping. So, it took PGU two working days to pull, pack, and ship. Not a real big deal, but I was excitedly anticipating it’s arrival. That extra day of waiting was a bummer. But it’s all good. I’m a happy camper (archer) now. 🙂

    :

I had never shot a bow before a week ago, but I knew I wanted a traditional longbow type. I happened upon PGU and your folding bow and I couldn’t be happier! I love it! The 50# is a bit too much for me (female,5’5″), so I will be ordering the 40# limbs soon, but even so, it has been easy to learn to use short range. The bow is very well made and I love that it folds to be so compact. I am left-handed and have tried the bow both right and left-handed with no problems. It was very easy to convert from left to right and I may be more comfortable shooting right-handed. My order was shipped very quickly and with tracking information. I would recommend this site and product to anyone and will definitely be ordering from PGU again! Thanks

I got the 50lb survival bow, its really good, like it, got a Flemish string as well like em both, well be doing more bussines with PRIMAL,THANKS.

    :

Unlike any other take down bow you’ll use no screwing around no tools just pull it out of your pack & in under a minute your good to go resilient , reliable & powerful enough to drop a full grown pig & Aussie pigs can handle some serious damage they’re big they’re angry & with one of these bad boys they’re history whats not to love about that people if your looking for a highly portable bow that does its job go primal you won’t regret it.

  53. 5 out of 5

    :

I’ve loved my Hoyt Gamemaster II, but this shoots better in my opinion! I was surprised at how light the draw felt compared to the 40# limbs on my Hoyt, but it buried the arrows consistently deeper. I thought this was going to be my back up bow, but after an all yellow group at 25 yards with 3 arrows the Primal 50# is going deer hunting this year!

  54. 5 out of 5

    :

This bow is rugged and superbly built. Having folding instead of detaching limbs is a huge advantage. I like that I can take this bow anywhere…it is concealable and legal everywhere. At 50#, it is accurate, powerful enough to do serious damage, and fun to shoot. I greatly appreciate the amazing engineering that went in to this bow, and I HIGHLY recommend it as both a survival tool and an all around great piece of archery gear.

    :

I’ve only shot this a couple times and I love it. The compact size makes it convenient to pack into any bag. But don’t let the size fool you, it can pack one hell of a punch.

Love it fit and finish is what Id hoped for. Can’t wait to shoot with it!

my bow arrived on time and as ordered after visiting with my local bow shop owner and being told 2-piece arrows was a poor choice I was glad to see that after checking out your arrows he was impressed with how your arrows were built. within a few shoots with instruction and little experience I was hitting the target at will. quality, accurate bow

Shoots very good, no hand shock. Seems well made, time will tell as I am drawing it 30 1/2 inches… I really like it so far!!

    :

Looks like a good product. Havent fired but strung and drew. I need to work up , realize should have gotten 40lb limbs. Wish worked in deal for 2nd set diff lb limbs with new bow. Am curious about what procedure would be to get 40s and return 50s for now. Will need 50s to hunt but soreness just from practice draws.

  66. 5 out of 5

    :

I am very impressed by this bow overall. It is more accurate and more usable then I originally thought possible given its design. I shoot mostly asian horsebow variants so this was a big switch for me. I have no complaints about the bow or how it works and the materials and craftsmanship are top notch. Except for one thing, the felt pads on the arrow shelf are just cheap and next to useless. The exposed edges catch the leading edges of fletchings and damage them. That and the first pad lasted just under 70 arrows before ripping off completely. Currently I replaced them all with two large panels of rayskin, which most people likely don’t have access too, since that is what I use on my horsebows. It is thin enough to still allow the limbs to fold correctly yet they resit abrasion well enough to not be damaged by fletching over time like a thin leather would. Working great so far. They need to make some sort of factory fix for the shelf and then this will be a perfect backpack bow.

    :

I received my folding bow about a week ago and am very pleased with its quality, fit and finish.

What amazed me the most, is the excellent construction of the riser and limbs.

    :

As far as the product goes A+ as for being out of stock and no support with aprox wait time = D- it would be an F but after 2 emails to support they were very informative. I do not believe that my bow was shown as out of stock at the purchase time, if it were i would not have proceeded. The reason i believe this happened [and most likely i’m not the only one] is because the note of being out of stock is hidden at bottom right in undistiguishing detail. When out of stock it should say so close to the buy button and be big enough to see. I almost canceled my order because of this issue, how many more will it take? losing one should be one to many!

I recently ordered the compact folding survival bow 50 lb draw weight from primal gear unlimited. I was so amazed with this bow when i got it. It was so fast to string and shoot. I was really amazed at how much power this little bow has. I was very impressed with the staff and quality of their products. I told all my friends and they want one now too. Perfect survival bow fits in my backpack great. I love it

The best purchase I have made. The folks at Primal Gear are informed and most helpful. The bow itself is very well built. Good for fun or hunting. Compacts down so small I can throw it in my B.O.B. with no fear of failure.

This bow is the clear “cat’s meow” for a bug out! Folds down nice, is not the most powerful bow, yet is capable of getting the job done. Almost a necessity in my mind.

Service was very prompt and was given several shipping options. Product arrived on time and functioned as promised. I’m very pleased with the bow and everyone whom has seen the bow is extreamly jealous. I had never heard of the product until I stumbled across it on YouTube. After reviewing the data of other “survival” bows I decided on the Primal Gear which has proved to be a wise choice based on quality, materials and function. After using it several times I highly recommend it. Although it is slated as a “survival” bow it is extreamly fun to shoot….

Ordered this as a Christmas gift for our teenage son(15 yrs old). He is all about survival items & things being able to be broken down fitting small spaces. He says that stringing it is a bit difficult till you learn the technique of it,then it’s easy ,he loves that it folds, fits on outside of backpack, and its fun to shoot- He’s thrilled with it :)- So it sounds like us parent’s got an “A+” for awesomeness of a gift for Christmas 2014!

    :

The bow is great. It has replaced everything else as my son’s favorite weapon. Only one thing, I thought I was supposed to get a second string because I sited my source where I heard about you.

A friend of my son suggested this bow for me to purchase for my son, for Christmas. My son has been an avid hunter for 27 years. He does not own one of these survival bows and I just know he will love it. The perfect gift!

    :

I really like my 50lb draw folding bow….i just made a limb quiver for it from some old flip flops that slide on the limbs before you put the string on the bow. Also, I just ordered a 55lb draw folding bow to give my son for christmas.
My bow shoots really strong and quiet. I will keep this bow in my bug out bag that I keep in my truck…i work several hours away from home and this is a nice asset to my emergency bug out bag.

Thank you, this bow is awesome and fun to shoot. So much in fact that my husband wants one as well. The first one was for my son, now my husband wants one in 55 lbs. He is testing the 50 lbs bow next week hog hunting in Hawaii. 5 star product at a 2.5 star price. Thank you again you have made my son and husband both happy.

I’ve just received my 55lbs folding bow. I’m really happy with it.

I noticed that it wasn’t easy to find additional FAQs regarding brace height and nocking point height – I had to do a Google search to locate the help page on your site. Maybe a link from the product page or from the Technical Specs/FAQs page would help?

Thank you for the speed of order processing. And thank you for sending me a spare string for the bow.

    Yours,

    Colin

The bows are really great!!! Love them! the Velcro pads wear out really fast but thats not really a big deal at all. Thanks so much for providing this awesome product!!

In our brief correspondence, Ms. Barber was extremely helpful and cordial. As for the product, solid is as solid does – handed, at one point, the bow to a 5 year old in Bass Pro Shop with the specification, “Do not drop this” so naturally it hit the concrete in about 1 minute. I was pleased to discover that there was not even a visible scratch and all parts appeared functional still.

The “pathfinder” coupon code was nice and I’ll be buying more strings from yall in the future, too. Haven’t had a chance to try it out yet, but that will change soon; meanwhile, I’m fully satisfied w/ the purchase and would consider it a wise choice for any prepper w/ mobile survival on their mind, so on that note…

“A man’s heart deviseth his way:
but the LORD directeth his steps.”
    – Proverbs 16:9

God be w/ us all in the new year…

I’ve shot this bow several times since I’ve gotten it, and it’s a very usable, effective bow out to about 25 yards for me. I have no doubts it will allow me to fell a deer next season! Excellent product!

Love it!!! Excellent tool for a survival/SHTF situation this isn’t my backup this is my go to! 2 thumbs up and 5 stars all the way.

This bow is high quality and easy to use effectively. Everybody should have one of these with their bug out gear.

    :

This bow is exactly what I was looking for in a bow that I could add to my back pack.

When folded it takes up little room in my pack along with the TD Arrows which is a good thing but it shines when deployed as a bow where making 15-20 yard shots were a breeze.
granted this isn’t a bow I would shoot every day because I have quite a few recurves available & some of the ergonomics isn’t there by comparison but I didn’t buy it for that purpose, I bought the CFSB for a very functional bow that I could practice on occasion but not have a problem keeping it in my pack or stuffed in my truck for if the time came that I would need to have a bow for survival situations.

This has been my first bow and it has been very easy to learn on as well the most durable out of everything I have been looking at. All of the craftsman ship and effort show great pride in the product they produce.

    :

Having an engineering background I would rate this survival bow as well made and well designed. Coupled with the 2 piece arrows this truly is a very portable tool for survival.

    :

I’ve been target practicing every day with my bow, my arms may be sore but its worth it. This bow rocks!

  105. 5 out of 5

    :

Everything about this bow is high quality: sturdy, well designed, easy to put together or take apart. It shoots beautifully and smoothly. I’m used to shooting a pulley bow so this was a new experience. I was surprised by the accuracy. It a very short time I have become very proficient. I very much recommend this bow, not just as a compact survival bow, but as a quality bow, period.

  106. 5 out of 5

    :

Way better than expected. Shoots like a longbow. Not like most other survival gear.

    :

A very simple now. U strung it , aim then shoot. There is not a lot of things to say about it. Very smooth finishing on the body. Beside the bug company logo, I can say I am very happy with this bow.

    :

I bought this bow thinking “yeah it should be nice as a backup if my normal bow breaks or something bad happens and I’m stuck out somewhere” but damn I love this bow. It has some real power and feels nice in my hands which is surprising due to its simplicity. I highly recommend this bow as a primary or backup which is big coming from me, I do not praise many things like this and give reviews.

  113. 5 out of 5

    :

It was the best thing that I could buy.
You may not believe me, but I failed in an interview which supposed to provide me a job in Australia. I was going to be mad but this bow help me to keep moving forward. Originally I am from Iran and due to international sanction against Iran, it is impossible for me to obtain such a thing from USA.
After two years of recurve shooting I found out I can never fall in love something except compound bows.
But I should confess that this bow changed my opinion.
    Thanks, for such a innovation.
And thanks for make the bow to happen.

I was wondering what the quality would be like – I needn’t have worried, The Survival Bow is fantastically made, and feels great to carry, strung or folded. Great product.

before this bow i have only owned a compound bow. i bought this bow to bring hiking, camping, and on survival trips. after watching one youtube video on instinctive archery and shooting about 150 arrows of practice this bow is putting 5 arrows in a fist size group exactly where i want them at 10 yards. the bow is very high quality and has a very smooth draw, definetly worth the money.

    :

Very impressed with my 50 lb survival bow that my wife bought me for my birthday. It shoots well and is built with compactness, simplicity and is durable. It has filled a spot in my survival “gear” that was lacking! All in all a great product!

  118. 5 out of 5

    :

This bow is everything it has been hyped to be. From durable materials, to smooth and easy operation, I found it to be an excellent choice, especially when space is limited.

The only thing I will note, is that in the folded position, the limbs can rattle. It shouldn’t be an issue, but I prefer all my gear to be quiet.

    :

This is a great bow for anyone wishing for a light, compact, and convenient bow. Easy to set up and easy to shoot. Great for putting in your bag or just shooting regularly. Would recommend to anyone looking into buying a bow.

Contrary to my arrows, the bow is perfect, light, and especially compact.

    :

I am seldom surprised by the quality of an item, that is not the case here. I am so pleased with this bow it shoots great and is far easier to use than I anticipated. It shoots right where you aim and is easier to put together than you would think. outstanding value.

  122. 5 out of 5

    :

I now know why so many people say that they sell their compound bow after buying one of these.
I only got it today (I live in Australia) and I have fired about 50 arrows to test it. I killed the paper deer with every shot, very close grouping. Not a bad feat considering I make my own arrows from river cane and no two are alike.
If you are unsure: don’t be, it will do everything you want and more.
I am a very happy customer.

This is my first real bow ever. I’m a total novice, but I’m getting the hang of it, and it’s very simple and easy to use. It didn’t ship for a week, so I called and spoke to Heather, who was very nice and polite and explained they had some family matters, it’s all cool. arrived 3 days later. Great bow, great people.

Using it as my primary go to hunting bow for my bug out bag. I recon I could feed a lot of mouths with it in a real survival situation, an all out survival situation.

    :

I love how compact and easy to transport this bow is when collapsed but when it is strung it is not quite symmetrical. It draws very smoothly but seems to shoot a little high. Definitely needs string silencers. I also think the shape of the handle could stand some improvement. Great service and fast shipping.

I RECEIVED MY 50# FOLDING BOW YESTERDAY. I UNPACKED AND ADDED A NOCK POINT. I FLEW 12 ARROWS @ 15 YARDS. I WAS AMAZED HOW FAST AND SMOOTH, ALL LANDED IN A 12″ GROUP, 4 IN THE BULLS EYE.
I’VE BEEN LOOKING TO BUY A MORE EXPENSIVE BOW. THIS BOW DOES EVERYTHING I NEED. THANKS…….

Alright, it doesn’t have sights. That is about the only thing I can see someone complaining about with this bow.

Not me though, I love this!

Easy to set up, easy to compact again, which really helps with storage. Within moments I was (mostly) hitting my targets, and enjoying myself immensely.

If you haven’t brought one yet, I’d highly recommend doing so.

Awseome bow, I did notice that one of the screws is brown when the rest are black and I notice that only when the bow is strung, is it tight and no noise. When it is not strung, the arms are loose and make noise when u move around. Also when u open te arms before u string, the arms move back and forth and make noise. I watched every YouTube video out there and notice other ones done make noise like mine.

    :

I had seen this bow first shown by Dave Canterbury on YouTube.com then by others over a couple of months ! I liked the ability to fold it up and back pack or store it and yet have quick ability to string it for hunting and defense. Then the price versus other longbows and compounds cinched the deal and I bought (2) and gave one to my son. Great product and lives up to the videos plus some and I would highly recommend this bow to anyone without one reservation ! You will not find a better bow at any price in my book ! I also own a PSE compound bow with a 65 lb draw pull and I am selling it now I have the Primal Gear bow. This will last me a lifetime
and I really look forward to hunting and bow fishing with it. Thanks again, Don Pagani

I find this item to be very easy to draw and shoot. With finger savers installed it’s self contained, and you can stuff it into your quiver with your arrows and it’s good to go. It’s my first longbow, so I’m not sure if they are all so wrist unfriendly, but switching to heavier arrows solved red forearms.

  135. 4 out of 5

    :

Compared to my standard wooden longbow it shot equally as good if not better.

Great product. Very well made. I was concerned the grip might be uncomfortable, but, was pleasantly surprised at how nice it is. You might not want to spend all day at the range with this bow, but, putting 30 or 40 arrows thru it wouldn’t be too bad.
the bow came with an extra string also.
    Excellent value!

I am very impressed with the overall quality of this product, and now having it in hand I can appreciate the actual value of the Survival Bow. I plan to use the bow extensively on a trip this following weekend in the Shenandoah valley of Virginia. For the cost, I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a bow that can be easily traveled with, whether on foot, canoe, bike, and in any vehicle. I have seen numerous videos testing and abusing the product and I have faith in my Go Primal Survival Bow!

Im an amature, this is my first bow and im having a great time. Love that you can fold it up into a case for easy transport. I got the 50lb and I think its the perfect weight as its a little difficult now but I know I can practice and build into its power.

So I got it for him for valentines day and at first I was worried I wasn’t going to get it on time. I was so excited when it came early that morning of vday! :

This bow locks together far sturdier than I thought it would from the pics and vids. It shoots true and fast with the takedown arrows with feathers. I need to get hold of some regular feathered arrows because the takedown ones are meant for reserve travel arrows mostly. I completely appreciate the extreme compact nature of the bow folded away with the t/d arrows. Sling bows and slingshots look great for this too. For me the 50lb draw on this can’t be beaten for this size of packdown. Very happy so far with the setup…seems very durable. Time in the field will tell but after 60 or so arrows through it I can’t fault it. Glad I have a few low cost take downs that perform well above their weight/cost.

    :

    The bow arrived, no problems.
Good quality, no surprise, i tried it for the last 2 weeks, all right. The main part is really nice.
Now the little no so fun things.
The parcel was labeled «merchandise», and not «gift» so i paid 1/3 of the bow price in taxes.
I really would have appreciated a real user guide about the bow, the rope, how to grease it, how to twist the rope when mounting it on the bow…
I was surprised not to find marks on the rope where we have to put the arrow. (to help us put the arrow on the same place all the time).
    yep. that’s all for today!

This is a great bow and is as promised a reliable folding bow. Lighter then it looks and does what it was designed to do. However I was not happy with the service. Took 1 week for item to be shipped and communication was poor.

Nice folks at Goprimal are doing a fantastic job. Bought this for my wife and our camping gear, she loves it! First shot out the box, hit the target! Bought 6 of the take down arrows, built a quiver/case from 2″ PVC pipe. Watch the reviews on YOUTUBE to see just how awesome this bow really is.

I bought this bow for my husband for Christmas as he is very much into survival camping/hunting. He has since then built a target for our backyard and shoots almost everyday. He has nothing but good things to say about the bow, versatility and compact carrying capability being at the top. Would highly recommend this to others, and already have actually! One of the best gifts I’ve ever picked up!

    :

This is the first bow I have bought. I am new to archery and I wanted to start with instinct shooting. This bow is very well built and very sturdy. I thought it would be a little flimsy at first. WOW! I was wrong it shoots true and very accurate. Another thing I liked was it is SUPER simple and needs practically no maintenance. It will be my primary bow for backpacking and i will most likely hunt with it too. The only down fall was it wasn’t drilled and tapped for a bow fishing reel. Other than that it is a great product. I would recommend this bow to anyone looking for something cool and fully functional for hunting or just shooting around.

    :

A great bow for everyday use or as a backup in a bug out situation. To supplement the great product, the team at Primal Gear Unlimited set a precedent for customer service. To make your go bag complete I recommend the takedown arrows. Until a molle quiver is available this is your best bet for a compact as archery solution.

    :

Couldn’t be happier with the product or how it arrived. I’ve been shooting it for a few days now and find it incredibly powerful and responsive. I also appreciate the recommendation for feather fletched arrows as I am finding that synthetic fletching does catch as described. That being said, I am still getting excellent groups even when using suboptimal arrows.

  166. 4 out of 5

    :

Definitely a well designed bow it functioned well above what I expected. I plan to get another this spring. The only complaint I have is there was a burr on the grip that cut my hand but that was a quick file fix.

    :

I bought this bow because I could no longer pull back my crossbow due to back injury. I have never used a longbow, but 20 years ago I had a compound bow and was very proficient with it. I decided to give this a try, and was very impressed with the workmanship, and simple it was to open up and break down. It took me about a week before I could draw the bow back to my set point. I know hit the target at 20 and 30 yards and all go in the center and 1-2 inches off either side of bulls eye. I LOVE THIS BOW! This is highly recommended and you will not be disappointed with the customer service. Jeff and Heather are great people, and will do their best to help you through the process of getting and needing what you want. Thank you Jeff and Heather for all your work of getting me set up.

I followed the instructions to change the bow over to Left Hand. Strung it up, measured up a nocking point and fired away. Impressed with how easy this bow is to shoot. Smooth and quiet. Point and shoot performance makes instinctive shooting easy. Plus the added benefite that it folds up to toss in the trunk or emergency kit.

This is a well thought out bow that is not only compact but could bring down both small and medium size game. The people are friendly and easy to work with and if you don’t own one of these bows buy one you will be very happy with it.

    :

Delivery was very fast, product was in excellent condition. Setup and takedown of bow is very fast and easy. Hard to give more of a review since it is a longbow… there are no sights or extra features to judge. Vibrates a bit, planning to get silencers. My girl can’t pull it… Kinda wish they had some 30lb limbs so I could shoot all day at the range with my girl… I doubt most kids can pull on it either.

    :

This bow is not #50 I’d say #35-#40
I like it but need the higher draw weight to hunt with.
Did u send me a weak bow because I am female?

    :

I bought this bow not knowing what expect when I got it , but as soon as I opened the box I was impressed with the quality of how it was made , but looks doesn’t mean it can shoot well much less group , so I proceeded to string it up and take it outside to shoot . To give you a little back ground on myself , I’ve been shooting longbows for close to ten years . That said , I have shot this bow for the last four afternoons and to say that I’m impressed is an understatement , this thing has ” no ” hand shock , this was the first thing I noticed , and it points ( aims ) very much like my longbow does and groups just as good as well . The only other question is how well it holds up in the field and that will take some more time , but I believe it will do fine . If you are looking for a compact bow or just want to try your hand at shooting instinctive archery with our breaking the bank , I highly recommend this bow .

I did not receive anything for writing this post .

The product so far has been working perfectly. I was looking for a bow and arrow that needed to be simple yet durable and compact, how a survival bow should be. This bow has all that at an affordable price. Thank you very much for the product I will recommend this bow to anyone.

This is my second bow. While I had to make some adjustments on the bow, the quality of the riser and limbs is extraordinary. I’m not super keen on the quality of the locking mechanism, but it works.

Bow shoots exceptionally well. Will need more time on the bow to see durability, but I’m not worried.

Excellent construction and materials. The bow hit to the point of aim straight out of the box and was very easy for a novice archer to use and excell with.

Real happy with the quality of this product! Also the personal hand written thank you lets me know that this is a personal product that is cared for by its owners. Heather thank you for supporting Jeff and the personal touch you sent on the instruction manual!! Great company all around!!

This is the bow that started archery for me – in short I love it. Small, compact and fits into my SO-TECH Go Bag (EX version), the bow is quick to setup.

Solid construction and a joy to shoot – many compliments from the club I shoot at and people describe the bow’s string release to sound beautifully quiet – almost like a bass note.

    Two personal niggles/observations;
The first is the handle, though rounded off it’s quite hard on the hand if you’re used to handles that are contoured, thinner and softer. I do have small hands so that may have been the problem.

The second thing is that people with larger draw lengths (I draw a minimal of 21″) find that the bow ‘stacks’ and have been reluctant to draw any further – for me it’s not a problem but for other people who I’d recommend this product to may have second thoughts.

Other then that, this bow is perfect. Thanks for coming up with a great product!

it is one handy bow. i never have to worry about getting it dirty unlike the compound bow i have the design is really simple and strong.

    :

I’ve been shooting this bow for two days and I am already consistently lethal at 25 meters. It is actually more accurate than my recurves of similar length.

I was expecting a great product, and I definitely wasn’t disappointed.

    :

the materials quality of the bow are excellent. It is a very very simple to mount. Once mounted, you can feel the excellent quality. It is light, looks nice, very practical, simple folding system, strong, compact, easy to store and carry.

I would just suggest to change the handle shape part and make it more comfortable to hold as it doesn’t really feel natural on your hand. However, it is just my opinion and other people would probably say that the handle is perfect 🙂

overall, I would definitely recommend the Primal Gear unlimited survival folding bow without hesitation. You cannot go wrong with it.

Also, very good customer service (communication, payment facility, shipping).

    thanks for your work guys.

Just picked up archery again after 6 years, was looking for a compact bow with some seriousness power behind it. Came across the folding survival bow and and my love for it never wavered. This is a fantastic bow and I recommend it to anyone looking for a take down bow. I’ve also built a PVC quiver with an attachment that allows me to secure the bow (when folded) to the quiver. It’s awesome, and this bow is awesome. High fives all around

I greatly enjoy using this bow. Being an amateur archer I put value on effecient travel with a bow and it is very easy to transport and delivers on satisfaction.

Jeff, Recieved the Compact 50lb Survival Bow 7-19-2013. Took it to a 3D shoot 7-21-2013. The bow was smooth and easy to handle on the course. I draw 30 inches, so after a little tuning I had great arrow flight, with tight groups. I would recomend this bow to anyone. This will be the bow I’ll carry in my truck during hunting season, on those occations , when the opportunity comes along and my standard gear is at home. Thank You for the fast service, and a great designed bow. Donald J. Swihart

    :

What can I say? All the other reviews were spot on about this bow. Awesome. It’s smaller and more portable than I expected–when it’s fully assembled it’s smaller than my recurve bow, too, so it will be quite maneuverable for hunting. The quality is top notch. I was worried about how the hand placement might feel when shooting but it’s comfortable and even beveled to help with the grip. Awesome bow, awesome company. Keep up the good work!

I received the bow about 10 days ago and have been target shooting with it just about every day. I am a novice archer but have no problem hitting a 5 inch target ring at 35 ft. I was surprised to see Bear Grylls carrying one on the “Leave No Man Behind” episode of his new show “Get Out Alive With Bear Grylls”.

    :

I did not buy this bow as a survival weapon or backup bow. I am a longbow hunting addict and I spend a large percentage of my working life traveling internationally. I needed something that would keep my muscles and muscle memory in tune while on the road. This bow over delivered in requirements and expectations. It is a piece of cake to pack in a duffel, is indestructible even by airline standards, and when teamed up with the takedown arrows, blunt tips, and a piece of scrap Kevlar, I have a practice range in every hotel room (toss a few bed pillows on the chair, cover with the Kevlar cloth…you get the idea.) The best part is that, I now pack a couple of screw-in broadheads, field points, and a homemade takedown carp arrow, and I am always ready for an unscheduled shoot or hunt. This is complete solution to hunting and practice for the longbow archer on the go! THANK YOU!

    :

It’s a piece of beauty. It shoots wonderfully. Everything is tight, reliable and COMPACT. The design is very convenient. It has a good weight to it. The bowstrings are standard. Really appreciate the free bowstring. Sleek, simplistic. The shelf is just right. The Velcro on the shelf is rather flimsy, it will eventually fall off. I assume the bow will still shoot fine without the Velcro like strips. While in take down mode, you will need to secure it, carry extra string or something in case you lose the included Velcro secure strap. The bow does a pretty bad job shooting arrows with vanes, so you guys might want to pick up a couple feathered arrow. Recommend 29 IN arrows with field tip, or 30 with mechanical broad heads. It’s a very stable longbow. When you first get the bow, don’t be afraid of breaking it when your stringing. It’s a very tough piece of weaponry. Accuracy is on point. It’s completely worth the wait. Wonderful bow, Thanks Primal.

    :

at first appears clumsy. Then, open , string up , nock , pull & let fly…. smooth, clean first round even with wrong indexed vanes. New fletchlings & bester yet. Low vibe , quiet & very compact. Power is as shood be. Excellent for bugout or just pack hunting for simplicity. Easy to assemble .
Took to my archery bud & impressed him as well.
    Buy it you’ll like it.

After searching for years for a great survival bow I came across this one. Read many reviews and watched some videos of the item in action. I was impressed and wanted to try it out. Would purchase again along with other related items. .

Received my primal gear unlimited bow and break down arrows today and all I can say is WoW!! Quality workman ship and a very well made unit to say the least, the break down arrows are too very well made and cant fault anything. Being a novice archer the 50lb bow is perfect for the beginner and also the expert archer.

Postage was SUPER quick for coming half way around the world and customer service was bar none the best I’ve ever encounted. The wait was painful due to the popularity of the bow being on back order but you wont be sorry when you receive it as its a ultimate bow & Arrow package!!

    Cheers primal gear unlimited 😉

This is a great bow to have stashed, “just in case”. It does have a lot of stacking at the end of the draw, and it is a bit of a string slapper, but I can deal with it in a pinch.

I am very satisfied with the customer service; the product is exactly as described and of high quality. Thank you PGU.

There is very little room for true innovation in traditional archery these days and whilst the idea of a packable bow is not a new concept, this bow intrigued me.

I can honestly say that the bow is of exceptional quality for the price. It is sturdy, robust and feels like a well made bow in the hand. It shoots great straight out the box and with a little tuning is very fast and accurate.

Overall, I bought this as a back up/pack bow and it exceeds all my expectations. I would recommend it to anyone.

    Great work Primal Gear

    :

I am writing this from the view of someone who has used a 3/4″ PVC bow for the last 4 months. This bow is heads and miles better than my PVC bow. I am so much more accurate now, this is a “Real” bow and really works fantastic with my break down arrows. My PVC bow was so bad with my break down arrows and now they shoot just like my normal arrows. The string is really great quality and with some cheap string silencers it will be perfect for hunting.
BUY THIS BOW…it is a REAL bow that folds up.

Although it took about a month to arrive, it was well wort the wait. I immediately went out to shoot it and it was very accurate. I might add a grip to the handle. Overall, great idea, great product. If you are considering getting it, get it.

    :

    I received the bow today.
Parcelforce done their usual and nailed me including import charge’s.
Totalled nearly £40 because the package was fast tracked.
Not happy with them at all…….
Fast tracking isn’t worth paying the extra for, you may get your bow a day earlier if that!

Unpackaged the bow and to my surprise it was a little heavier than I was expecting.
(Looking at the riser it would be possible to skeletonize it to reduce the total weight)

Limb’s and riser have a sound feeling to them, even when shot.
I shot 24 arrow’s at our target and each shot felt quite solid and sure even though they kicked off to the left a little.

The string’s that came with the bow need to be waxed straight out of the baggies they come in.
Found them to be really quite dry when unpackaged.
    Not a problem though.

Over all I give the guy’s at Primal gear 10/10
Good response time’s to email enquiries.
    Positive customer support.
    Delivery time’s are spot on.
    Quality product…

    :

The string broke on the 19th shot. She broke the contact area with the bow, I believe it was because of friction. As I was afraid to break the second rope, put a rubber finish to reduce the abrasiveness.

Bow was very good, I was impressed. A lot easier than making one out in the outback, just pull out of pack and set up in a few minutes. Would also like to see 90# bow limbs offered as I thought the 50# was too light and easy to pull, but for what it is supposed to do it is great.

Worth the wait! It took 7 weeks exactly from the time I ordered it, for it to be at my doorstep in Hawaii, but man, am I happy with the product! The bow is very functional in it’s construction, light weight (2.5 lbs), compact (24 inches), and has a no-frills design. It’s everything you would expect from a folding survival bow. Not as refined as other bows, but it will most definitely get the job done (Yes, I’ve gone to the range and shot it, so I can attest to this). The best thing about this bow is it’s size & weight. I am already recommending this Bow to family & friends. Thanks to Primal Gear Unlimited for making a great product!

This product after receiving it I couldn’t believe the quality of the bow. It’s by far one of the best purchases I’ve made. I have shown and recommended it to friends. :

Excellent quality product. Genius folding design. Consistent, all weather results. I have added a removable grip pad (using adhesive velcro) and string silencers to minimize secondary reverberations and a knock set ring for repeatable arrow positioning. All high tech considerations aside from its fiberglass and aluminum construction: it simply feels right, it sounds right and it shoots right. I could not be more pleased with my purchase. Looking forward to travelling with it over the next few years.

I’ve shot my bow just about every day that I’ve had it and I must say I really like it. It’s exactly what I wanted and I’m excited about taking it hunting this year. One thing I would change though. The material on the arrow rest tends to “grab” the feathers. I’m going to replace it with calfskin.

Shoots great. Small shelf, which turns it to a long bow. When trying to get extra parts, always on a four week back order. I wish you have a 20 percent overstock due to these situations. Over all very good at folding into a very tight compact tight package. Wish there was accessory. Like sights. Or a complete package.

    :

Took my bow into archery shop. First question was asked was where’s the bow. It shoots great up to thirty yards. Three or less inch shot groups. Can shoot out to twenty with two inch shot group. Would not shoot farther than twenty five to thirty yards. Folds compactly and is small fits in a bag easily. Great bow. Would recommend to anyone.

    :

I just received my compact folding survival bow and it looks amazing. It opened and the bowline was easy to install.
When I went to close the bow, I assumed that the arms would tighten and stay in place without the velcro strap, but they do not. Not a big deal, just make sure not to lose that strap.
I like the fact that the handgrip area has rounded corners. That makes a huge difference.
Thank you for a wonderful product!

THE ONLY THING I DON’T LIKE ABOUT THIS BOW IS HOW LONG IT WAS ON BACK ORDER. THEY MUST BE VERY POPULAR OR MAYBE YOU ARE NOT MAKING ENOUGH OF THEM TO KEEP THEM IN STOCK.

  258. 5 out of 5

    :

Looked at a lot of recurve and takedown bows. Even if the bows had a good review, they were not compact or easy to takedown and carry. The Primal folding survival bow is everything: compact, easy to sting, takedown, use and carry in a truly small package. It is the perfect take it with you survival bow.

I recently purchased a cfsb-1 with the 50lb limbs and I LOVE IT!!! The construction is top notch and the materials tough as nails. It’s light and fits in my pack very nicely. This bow is great for what I intend to use it for… Compact and fun to shoot, a few issues I have is that it stacks up quite a bit which leads to a slightly inconsistent shot (based on design it’s not too bad). The handle is a bit uncomfortable but for being collapsable its not a pressing issue, I just glued on a small pad for better comfort. Great job and keep it up.

While this is a small start-up company, they produce a top quality piece of gear. They have their heads in the game when it comes to customer service as well. If you order while they are in “back order” be patient…it will be a few weeks but it is worth the wait!
